The 2011 World CTL Award has been granted to Mr. Rudi Heydenrich, Executive Manager of Sasol Technology. The award was presented by Mr. Milton Catelin, Chief Executive of the World Coal Association. An engineer in Chemical Engineering, Rudi Heydenrich has over 22 years of rich experience in chemical engineering and has been instrumental in the improvement of Sasol technologies, the construction and commissioning of new units and the successful commercial developments still in process in CTL and GTL. Rudi has a Bachelor degree of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pretoria, a Master in Chemical Engineering from the University of Potchefstroom and is a Professional Engineer of the South African Council for Engineering. |

2010 Award
The 2010 Award has been granted to Mr. Zhang Jiming, Vice President of Shenhua Coal To Liquid and Chemical, for the contribution his work on direct conversion has made to the knowledge and development of CTL.
The presentation ceremony took place at the conclusion of the CTL 2010 Conference on 15 April, 2010. The award was presented to Mr. Zhang Jiming by Mr. Martin Schoenbauer, Executive Director of the Department of Energy Office at the U.S. Embassy in China.

2008 and 2009 World CTL Awards
- The 2009 World CTL Award was granted to Dr. Theo Lee for his pioneering scientific work in CTL and his achievements as an entrepreneur and international developer.
- In 2008, Dr. Sadao Wasaka received the Award for his scientific work in CTL processes and his contribution in international co-operations.
